Booking

How booking holds work

When a client picks a time, it's held for the office's hold length (30 minutes by default) while they finish. Holds expire on their own; after three expirations the client is asked to call the office. The hold length and the limit are in Settings → Office policy.

Referrals

Giving a professional a referral link

Each tax professional gets a personal link (tsktaxseason.com/their-name) and a QR code under Referrals. Leads who book through it are credited to that professional, and the first touch is locked on the contact.

Client portal

Where the client's checklist comes from

The checklist is built from the client's intake answers at activation: employers, interest, mortgage, self-employment, dependents and whether someone else prepared last year. Staff can waive an item or add one on the case.

Consents

What happens without AI-processing consent

The assistant classifies documents and assembles prep packets only for clients who consented. Without consent, staff sort documents by hand and prepare from the documents directly; nothing else changes.

Readiness

Running or rescheduling a readiness check

The check runs automatically before each appointment on the office's schedule (30 minutes by default). You can also run it now from the case's Readiness tab. It suggests a reminder or a later time; you decide, and a reschedule proposal goes to the client to accept or keep their time.

Review

The three approvals before filing

The preparer approves the packet, the office approves for the firm, and the client authorizes from the portal after seeing the figures. A change request voids earlier approvals so the sequence restarts from a clean state.

Security

Seeing a masked identifier in full

Identifiers such as SSNs are stored encrypted and shown masked. People with the reveal permission can show one in full from the review screen; each reveal is recorded in the audit log.

Operations

What overseas ops staff can see

Ops staff see tasks in their queues with personal data masked, and only for clients who gave disclosure consent (Form 7216). Tasks for other clients are hidden from ops entirely.

Languages

Changing a client's language

Clients choose English, Spanish or Haitian Creole with the language button; the choice is kept on their account and used for every email and text the office sends them.

Billing

Adding seats or switching to annual billing

Settings → Plan & billing shows your plan, seats and interval. Extra seats are priced per plan; annual billing is ten times the monthly price. Changes apply on the next billing period.
